The company has doubled the production space of its joinery to "seriously increase volume".

The year 2023 was marked by major changes at MCC: reorganisation of the sales force, but also of industrial processes thanks to heavy investment in production facilities.

The Saint-Paulien plant, near Le Puy-en-Velay (43), has been equipped with an automated production line for SOENEN PVC windows and doors for several months.

900,000 euros had been earmarked for the PVC line.

This new plant was inaugurated in October 2023 (the increase in raw material prices slightly delayed MCC Group's overall project for this plant).

Modernised machinery.

"As soon as the Covid-19 containment ended, demand increased and our delivery times became longer and longer, sometimes up to 20 weeks! It became urgent to increase our production capacity so that we could satisfy our customers as soon as the situation returned to normal," explains Dorian Langrené, Sales Director of MCC.

Automation of the PVC line

The new PVC line met customer expectations by significantly increasing production capacity. The line was commissioned in June 2023 and came up to cruising speed in December, causing production speeds to skyrocket. "We went from 160-170 frames per week to 250-300 without having to double the team," says an elated Dorian Langrené, who now has a free hand to keep his sales team running at full capacity.

Soenen's line, which has replaced an old machining centre, consists of three blocks of machines: machining and then cutting the PVC profiles, cutting the reinforcements and then screwing the reinforcements - drilling fixing holes and fully automatic mounting and screwing of the locking plates.

"We now have a high production capacity: the machine produces about 300 PVC frames a week, but can produce double that number if the plant switches to double shift," says Kévin Béranger, the plant's manager.

The plant operates on a one-shift basis, except for the extrusion department for composite lamellae, which runs continuously from Monday to Friday.

It employs 32 people on joinery (16 PVC and 16 aluminium), 12 on composite (extrusion and assembly) and six on metal work (gates, pergolas) and powder coating.

Focus on the new PVC line

After two one-week visits by MCC production managers to Soenen Hendrik in Belgium to test run the equipment, the machines were installed in May and June 2023.

Operators were trained and control/parameterisation was completed so that production could begin in September. The line reached cruising speed in December. It operates with "one-and-a-half operators".

This centre type MTS, can screw in reinforcements as well as locking plates and drill fixing holes.
The locking plate centre, type MTS, can manage 8 different locking plates through 8 large warehouses. This automation saves a lot of time and avoids errors/forgotten locking plates.
